برنامج 7-Zip Compression عبارة عن مشروع مجاني ومفتوح المصدر تم إصداره في عام 1999 مع الإصدار الأول.
تم تقديم تنسيق الضغط 7z بواسطة البرنامج ، والذي قام في بعض الحالات بضغط أداء الضغط بشكل أفضل من التنسيقات مثل Zip و Rar.
